In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have a special opportunity to be the Hands & Feet of Jesus and help some of the most vulnerable in our community.
JOURNEYS, a non-profit agency that provides both shelter and services to the homeless here in the northwest suburbs, is calling on the community to help with donations. As a church, we are going to answer their call!
They are asking for our help in providing the following items:
Non-perishable, single serving food items such as: pop-top cans of soup and vegetables (no cans that require a can opener to open), fruit cups, cereal, tuna or chicken packets.
Bottled water or reusable water bottles
Paper bags with handles to deliver food and supplies
Rolls of quarters for laundry
Individual laundry detergent pods (provides ability to divide amongst several people) and other cleaning supplies (such as hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes)
Additional items noted on Journey’s Amazon wish list - CLICK HERE
To participate, purchase the items as you are able and drop off at Redemption during one of our two collection times on either Saturday May 23rd or May 30th from 2PM-4PM. Place the items in the trunk of your car or back of your van, drive up to the posted area in our parking lot, and our Hands & Feet team will take care of unloading your donations.
Drop off and collection will be at Redemption.
For every household that donates items, Redemption will donate a $25 gift card to a local grocery store.
If you would like to help serve the Hands & Feet team either with one of the two collection days or with the delivery to Journeys, please send an email to handsandfeet@redemptionbc.org.
