Family Dinner Night
What: Family Dinner Night
Meetup Organizer: Kathryn Duffy
Who: Everyone
When: Friday, February 28th @ 6:30pm (RSVP by 2/27)
Where: Duffy Home
146 Tottenham Ln
Elk Grove Village, IL 60007
What to Bring: Themed meal item to share
Details: Who likes themed dinner nights?! Let's get together and share a meal with a fun theme! Our first Family Dinner Night meal will be: French Cuisine!!
We will provide a main course or two, related to this meals theme and anyone that decides to join us is asked to bring a food item to share that's also related to the theme.
Get as creative as you like with your themed food item (French Fries, anyone?) and items to share can be homemade, store bought, restaurant carryout, really, whatever works!! The more creative the better!
We intend for this to be relaxed and fun, so don't over think it, and nothing needs to be fancy. Just come hang out and have fun!
We will provide basic beverages and essentials for the meal, but feel free to bring you own drink of choice as well. Please let us know if anyone has any food allergies or restrictions. The Duffy's have some food restrictions, so we are used to it and can be very accommodating!
Note: The max number of guests (8) does not include kids. Kids are definitely welcome! Our kids will be here and will be joining us. Knowing the number of adults gives us a better idea of how much food to plan for, based on the number of family groups, and how many food items will be brought to add to the fun dinner we have planned! So bring the fam! We'll have fun things for the kids, too! Just please only RSVP the number adults!

Hands And Feet Serving Opportunity: Breakfast With Baby
What: Hands And Feet Serving Opportunity: Breakfast With Baby
Meetup Organizer: Sergio Sanchez
Who: Men
Women
Married Couples
Singles
When: Saturday, April 11th @ 8:30am (RSVP by 4/10)
Meetup frequency: 2nd Saturday of each month
Where: Salvation Army Of Des Plaines
609 W Dempster St
Des Plaines, IL 60016
What to Bring: just bring yourself
Details: This is a serving opportunity to help economically-challenged families.
If a woman is at least seven months pregnant or has a child under one year of age, she can bring her whole family to Breakfast with Baby.
After a hot breakfast, the older children go to a class where they sing, do a craft and hear a Bible story. The toddlers meet in the playroom, while the men gather in another area for an informal Bible discussion group.
The moms and toddlers then have a time of encouragement from the Bible followed by shopping. In a temporary store-type area, they can select gently-used baby clothing, toys, books, strollers (or other large items as available). All items are FREE! They then receive a package of diapers for each eligible child.
Note: This serving opportunity may involve grunt work (cleaning up tables, storing chairs, garbage, etc.)
Bilingual capability would be beneficial (especially Spanish speakers).
Remember the families that show up are oftentimes un-churched, so although you can share your faith, or offer to pray, they may or may not be receptive.
