Our Team

I was born and raised near Boston and led a nominal-Christian lifestyle until my late 20s. At that time I had a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, a promising career, was happily married, and was the father of a healthy baby boy—but I still felt that something was missing. When I first heard the gospel being taught expositionally at a church service, God opened my eyes and soon thereafter I placed my faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord.  Since then I have been irresistibly drawn by God to study, understand, and teach the Scriptures, as well as serve His people. He has led us through a few moves in the last decade, most recently to Chicagoland, where I work in energy research. We started attending and serving at Redemption in the fall of 2022, and I began serving as an Elder in late 2025. In my spare time I enjoy studying the Scriptures, fiddling with my guitars, listening to music, exercising, and going on adventures with my wife, Cris.  We are empty-nesters and reside in Des Plaines.
