Dan Alcantara: On Bonfire Night

Dear Prayer Partners,

October has come and gone and we’re now into November. Craziness, absolute craziness.

Big Prayer request

This newsletter is primarily one asking for prayer, particularly for our family in the States. We have family who are grieving and it is difficult being so far away and unable to do more than pray. We know that God is more powerful and able to comfort than we ever could be, but please be praying for them.

Ministry

We’ve continued to enjoy our ministry partnership with Avendale’s youth group. There’s been a good opportunity for discussion and for Sophie and Chloe to meet some other kids their age. We’ve also seen that there are un-believers in the group. Pray that we would use these evenings to share the gospel and that God would save these young people.

Over the next six weeks, I’ll have the opportunity to preach at a couple of other churches, our own church and twice for my training course. Pray that I would be able to focus when I am studying and that the Holy Spirit would help me to have understanding over all of these passages.

As protestors and leaders join forces to say our ultimate salvation comes from more effective recycling, there are multiple churches in Glasgow who have closed their doors during the COP26 conference. Pray that the churches that are staying open would be a strong witness and demonstrate that we cannot rightly care for the planet that God has given us if we do not rightly understand that it is his planet.

Thank you again for your prayers and support. We truly cannot do this without you.
