Family-16.png

Today’s lesson is about when Jesus calms the storm.

Read the Passage: Matthew 8:23–27

[23] And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. [24] And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but he was asleep. [25] And they went and woke him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing.” [26] And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. [27] And the men marveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?”

  2. Why do you think Jesus did these miracles?  (So that we would know that he is God)

  3. What happened while they were crossing the sea in their boat?  (A big storm came up)

  4. Why were the disciples scared?  (They thought the boat was going to sink)

  5. What was Jesus doing?  (He was sleeping)

  6. What did Jesus say to the disciples when they woke Him up?  (Why are you afraid, you don’t have faith)

  7. What did Jesus use to stop the storm?  (Just His voice)

  8. What does this miracle teach us about Jesus?  (Let your kids ramble on this.  Some thoughts – 1) Jesus has power over nature. 2) We don’t ever have to be afraid because God always takes care of His children. 3) God has ALL the power! 4) God is in control of EVERYTHING!)
