Read the Passage: Galatians 5:22–23

[22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, [23] gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Discuss the Passage:

  1. Why do you think it is called “the fruit of the Spirit?”  (It is what our life produces, just like fruit is what a fruit tree produces)

  2. Why do you think “love” is the first fruit mentioned?  (It is the most important and the other fruits mentioned build off of unselfish love)

  3. Which one of the fruits mentioned do you think is hardest for you?  (Talk this out)

  4. Who gives us the power we need to show the fruit of the Spirit?  (The Holy Spirit)
