Ask the Questions

Bigs Discussion Questions

  1. What was your favorite part of today’s Bible story?

  2. What did you learn about God in today’s Bible story?

  3. Who led God’s people in rebuilding the temple?

  4. Can God be trusted? Yes, God cannot lie, so we can trust whatever He has said.

Elementary Discussion Questions

  1. When was a time you had to trust God and His Word even when it was hard?

Answers will vary. Lead kids to consider how God never promised that we would not face hard times, but that He did promise to be with us and help us during hard times. Encourage kids to remember that God can always be trusted.

  2. The prophets encouraged the people with God’s Word. Who encourages you with the Word of God?

Answers will vary. Lead kids to think about godly adults or friends in their lives who help them to remember God’s Word and teach them what is true. Encourage kids to also be someone who seeks to encourage others with the truth of God’s Word.

  3. Why is Jesus a better gift than a temple?

Emphasize how a temple was a temporary reminder of God’s presence with His people. Remind kids that God sent Jesus to die for our sins and raise to life so that we can have forgiveness, life forever, and the promise of the Holy Spirit. Lead kids to understand that unlike a temple, which can only be in one place, God is with us always through His Spirit.
