Continue the conversation throughout the week with your kids by asking them questions pertaining to the lesson from Sunday at Redemption Kids.

  1. What was your favorite part of today’s Bible story?

  2. What did you learn about God in today’s Bible story?

  3. What did Queen Esther ask King Ahasuerus to do for her?

  4. How should we feel when we sin? When we sin, we should feel sorry that we have disobeyed God and choose to obey Him.

Elementary Discussion Questions

  1. Why did Esther not tell the king she was a Jew?

    Remind kids that Mordecai asked Esther not to say that she was from Judah. Lead kids to understand that the Jewish people were in a foreign country where some people did not like them. Discuss how God kept Esther safe and allowed her to become the queen.

  2. How does Esther remind us of Jesus?

    Lead kids to understand that Esther went before the king on behalf of her people. Help kids understand that she was willing to sacrifice herself for the sake of her people. Remind kids that Jesus went to the cross and gave Himself as a sacrifice for our sin. Discuss how Esther saved her people from Haman’s evil plan and Jesus saves us from sin and death.

  3. Why can you trust God at all times?

    Encourage kids to remember that God is always in control. Lead kids to understand that they do not have to be afraid or worry because God always does what is right and good. Help kids to remember that their greatest need is to be saved from their sins through faith in Jesus.

Big Picture Question: How should we feel when we sin? When we sin, we should feel sorry that we have disobeyed God and want to turn from our sin because we love Him.

Big Idea: God was in control over Haman’s evil plan to destroy the Jews.
