Sermon Series: Spiritual Rhythms of the Psalms

Sermon Title: Worship

Sermon Text: Psalm 66

Spiritual Rhythms (or spiritual practices or disciplines) guide us in regular participation in the deepening of our awareness of God and affection for God

Three reminders of who God is and what that reveals of our relationship with God:

1st Reminder: God is omniscient, knowing everything about me (v1-6)

  • because God is omniscient, knowing everything about me: I am known by God

2nd Reminder: God is omnipresent, being everywhere with me (v7-12)

  • because God is omnipresent, being everywhere with me: I am not alone

3rd Reminder: God is omnificent, having created me (v13-16)

  • because God is omnificent, having created me: I am loved by God
