Sermon Text: Hosea 2:2-23

Israel’s Path to Destruction (v2-5)

  • Unrepentant sin shames (v3a)

  • Unrepentant sin separates (v3b)

  • Unrepentant sin severs (v3c)

  • Unrepentant sin spreads (v34)

God’s Intervention (v6-15)

  • 1st Step: God disrupts our lives (v6-7)

  • 2nd Step: God disciplines our sin (v8-13)

  • 3rd Step: God draws us back to Him (v14-15)

The Good News of Hosea (v16-23)

God promises four realities that will exist in that day

  • 1st Promise: In that day, God will restore His relationship with His people (v16-17)

  • 2nd Promise: In that day, God will restore His covenant with His people (v18-20)

  • 3rd Promise: In that day, God will restore all His creation for His people (v21-22a)

  • 4th Promise: In that day, God will restore us as His people (v22b-23)
