1. God is sovereign over the WHERE (16:6-10)
Our responsibility is to be obedient to the Spirit’s leading
Discernment requires:
Beginning with PRAYER
Truth of SCRIPTURE
Wisdom of OTHERS
Ending with PRAYER
2. God is sovereign over the WHO (16:11-15)
Our responsibility is to share the good news with others, because “We Share + God Saves”
That is both humbling and encouraging, knowing that God can do this to anyone and through anyone
3. God is sovereign over the WHEN (16:16-40)
Our responsibility is to remain faithful to the mission at all times
He’s also sovereign over the HOW, and the how is Jesus, as the gospel of Jesus Christ:
Attracts (v14), drawing you to Jesus, opening your heart, God having taken the initiative
Rescues you (v18), freeing you from the chains of sin that enslave you
Disrupts your life (v19), softening your heart, transforming your desires
Ultimately saves you (v31), Jesus doing for you what you could never or would never do
