Compassion Kits
WHAT IS A COMPASSION KIT?
Our Hands and Feet Team has put together what we are calling COMPASSION KITS which is an already prepared package filled with basic hygiene necessities and a copy of the gospel of John that you can than give to someone you come across that might be in need. We are also asking everyone who distributes a Compassion Kit to include a $25 gift card to a grocery store or restaurant.
The Hands and Feet Team has prepared 100 Compassion Kits, with a portion of them meant specifically for women.
HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE?
You can pick up a Compassion Kit on Sunday mornings after service in the lobby. Amrita John or Sarah Philip will also be available to answer any questions you might have.
The intent is for you to plan ahead and pray ahead. Instead of grabbing a kit and throwing it in your car for a potential encounter, we want you to plan ahead, thinking of those people or places you encounter - and then pray ahead for an opportunity to provide them with a Compassion Kit.
Everyone who picks up a Compassion Kit to distribute is asked to include a $25 gift card to either a grocery store or a restaurant. We’re also asking everyone to include a note of encouragement, as well as any additional hygiene products or snacks. Please refrain from including alcohol based items (such as mouth wash) or sharp items (such as razors or scissors).
As we begin to distribute these compassion kits in our communities, remember what the Lord said to the Israelites in Deuteronomy 15:11, “For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore, I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’”
