Dinner and Discussion Questions

The Goal

We want to give parents space to remember that they are the single greatest influence in their child’s future religious participation and to consider how they are doing at this. To examine how they are doing in discipling their kids. And to hear and learn from other parents who are doing this too. To help us in this, we will consider the following questions on Wednesday, January 11:

Discussion Questions

  1. What has been a success and a struggle in discipling your kid(s) lately?

  2. What is a rhythm you remember from childhood that you may even continue to this day? (Ie. family dinner, cutting down a Christmas tree, prayer before bed, etc.)

  3. Kids tend to imitate their parents in both the good and the bad. What is something you want to continue, or to develop, in yourself this year that your kids could imitate?

  4. Think ahead to the day your kid(s) leaves the house (either for college or adulthood). What do you hope they have experienced beforehand to be ready for that day? What might you need to prioritize today to make that happen?
