Dan Alcantara: Notes From Warsaw 03

Cześć Redemption!

It’s been a month spent in prayer and we’ve seen some amazing things happen.

As a church, we spent the last week of January fasting together. This was a really good time in the word and during it, we continued to see incredible healing for my dad. In fact, he is now out of the hospital and back at home! He also had the physical therapist visit for an assessment and was told that he won’t need to see him again because he exceeded all of the targets they had for him. Through all of this, it’s been great to see so many people praying together for him and everyone proclaiming how good God has been to us. He is still waiting for one more surgery to close up his skull, we are thanking God for his provision and protection during this time.

In the run-up to the week of fasting I had the privilege of writing a prayer and study guide for the church. We’ve been in a sermon series working through the book of Ephesians and it has been a fruitful time of being reminded of the gospel that has saved us and how that same gospel changes our relationships and the way we live.

We would not be able to do this work were it not for the generous support of our ministry partners. We have been incredibly blessed as we have done this work and have thus far been able to cover all of our expenses.

This move, however, has come with a lot of large, unexpected costs and also the news of losing some of our ministry partners to life circumstances. Because of this, we are currently looking at a deficit (I'm still working out what those figures are going to be).

If you have been following along and praying for us, I ask that you would consider partnering with us for this year with AT3.

Again, we could not do this work without your support. It's been incredible to see how God has provided over the last few years and to know that you are partnering with us as we work to make much of him on this side of the Atlantic.

Prayer Requests

As always, please reach out to us with any prayer requests you have as you partner with us in prayer. Here is how you can pray for us this month:

  • Continue to pray with us as we sort out residency issues and keep our stay here legal. The process has been far from straightforward and has been further complicated by Brexit (Tracy and the kids are UK citizens), as the workers in the foreign office don’t know how to handle our situation.

  • We have begun working on a ministry opportunity in the UK. Pray that the Lord would be going before us as we work with AT3 to figure out what our options will be for visas as well as for the church that we will hopefully be joining this September. Be praying for our last four months here in Poland. Our hope is that there will be people in the church who we can hand ministries over to and that there would not be a hole left after we’ve gone.

  • Lastly, be praying for upcoming travel. Right now, the plan is for the whole family to go to the US so that I can apply for my next visa. Pray that we would find affordable flights, that we would have a good time reconnecting with friends and family and that the Lord would provide for our next stage of ministry. Our hearts are very much still with the local church in the UK and we desire greatly to dedicate the rest of our lives to serving it.
