Bigs Discussion Questions

  1. What was your favorite part of today’s Bible story?

  2. What did you learn about God in today’s Bible story?

  3. Who is the perfect Priest?

  4. How is Jesus the perfect priest? Jesus gave His life as the perfect sacrifice for sin.

Elementary Discussion Questions

  1. How do you feel knowing Jesus lives forever to speak to God for you and always acts for your good?

Answers will vary. Discuss how Jesus’ intercession is an act of grace and mercy. Remind kids that sin deserves death, but Jesus died in our place. Help kids understand that anyone who trusts in Jesus will always be forgiven of sin.

  2. Why do we not need to offer sacrifices for our sins?

Remind kids that Jesus is our perfect and final sacrifice. Tell kids that animal sacrifices could never completely take away sin; they only covered sin for a time. Explain that Jesus’ sacrifice is once-and-for-all because only He lived a perfect, sinless life, and only He defeated sin and death.

  3. Do we need to follow rules and religious laws to be saved? Why not?

Discuss how even the priests in the Old Testament could never perfectly follow the rules or the Law. Remind kids that we can never measure up to God’s perfect standard of holiness. Tell kids that only Jesus perfectly obeyed the Law. Remind kids that we are only saved through faith in Jesus.
