Ask the Questions

Bigs Discussion Questions

  1. What was your favorite part of today’s Bible story?

  2. What did you learn about God in today’s Bible story?

  3. When did Jesus rise from the dead?

  4. How is Jesus the perfect King? Jesus perfectly rules over everything.

Elementary Discussion Questions

  1. Do you ever act like you’re ‘king’? Do you ever try to be in charge and do things your way? How?

Answers will vary. Explain that as sinners we all try to be “king” of our lives. Tell kids that as sinners we choose to put ourselves first and want to live to please ourselves. Remind kids that only Jesus is King and that when we trust in Him, we choose to follow Him as King and turn away from sin.

  2. What did Jesus do to bring us back to God?

Tell kids that God sent Jesus to rescue us from sin. Explain that Jesus lived a perfect life in our place, died on the cross for our sin, and rose again. Remind kids that Jesus’ blood washes away our sin.

  3. How can we make Jesus King of our lives?

Discuss how Jesus is always the King of kings but that we don’t always accept that He is. Tell kids that we have a choice of whether or not we will bow to King Jesus and accept Him as our Savior. Help kids understand that when we confess our sins, ask Jesus for forgiveness, and trust in Him, we are saved and given the gift of eternal life. Encourage kids to remember that when Jesus becomes King of our lives, we desire to obey Him because He has shown love toward us.
