The questions asked below were asked on Sunday during our time at Redemption Kids. Take some time to read the passage together, discuss the questions, watch a BRAND NEW video of the lesson, memorize the Bible verse, and remember the big idea of this week!

Ask the Questions

Bigs Discussion Questions

  1. What was your favorite part of today’s Bible story?

  2. What did you learn about God in today’s Bible story?

  3. What did Jesus ask John to do?

  4. What did Jesus do to save us? Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead.

Elementary Discussion Questions

  1. What is baptism a picture of?

Help kids understand that baptism does not save us, but is an act of obedience after we have placed faith in Jesus. Tell kids that baptism is a picture of how our sinful life has been buried with Jesus and how we are raised to new life in Him.

  2. Why did John call Jesus the ‘Lamb of God’?

Discuss how lambs were used as a sacrifice for sins as part of God’s law. Explain that the blood of the lamb was meant to show that the people’s sins were being washed away. Tell kids that John recognized that Jesus had come to be the sacrifice that would take away people’s sin once and for all.

  3. Are there ways you can obey God? How?

Remind kids that our obedience to God does not save us but shows that we have trusted in God and love Him. Help kids understand that John obeyed God’s call to prepare the way for Jesus as he trusted Jesus was the only way to be saved. Lead kids to think about and discuss ways they can show their love toward God through their obedience such as obeying their parents, forgiving others, speaking with love, respecting others, and so on.
