What did you learn about God in today’s Bible story?

What did Jesus teach when He was on earth? Jesus taught about God and His kingdom.
Elementary Discussion Questions
In Jesus’ parable, what is the wedding feast really about?
Guide kids to understand that the wedding feast in the parable is meant to be understood as God’s kingdom. Remind kids that just as the king invited all people to the wedding feast, so does God invite all people to join Him in His kingdom. Remind kids that we can only enter the kingdom of God by faith in Jesus.
How was the king patient with the people He invited? Did the invitation last forever? Why not?
Lead kids to discuss how the king was patient because he offered multiple opportunities for the people to accept his invitation to the wedding feast. Explain that God is patient with us and gives us many opportunities to accept His invitation to trust in Jesus. Remind kids that the king’s invitation did not last forever because there was a time for the wedding feast to begin. Discuss how neither will God’s invitation last forever and one day Jesus will return.
What does it mean to be clothed in righteousness?
Tell kids that before Jesus saves us, we are like the man without the proper wedding clothes. Explain that when we trust in Jesus, He forgives our sins and gives us His righteousness. Tell kids that God no longer sees our sinfulness—our improper wedding clothes—but sees Jesus’ righteousness.
