What did you learn about God in today’s Bible story?
What did Jesus tell the people was the only way to be saved?
Why do people not choose Jesus? People are born with sin and choose what they want rather than what God wants.
Elementary Discussion Questions
Why was Jesus rejected?
Discuss how Jesus was rejected because people did not want to confess their need for forgiveness and turn away from sin. Remind kids that people reject Jesus because all people are born with a sin nature and want to please themselves rather than obey God.
How do we accept Jesus?
Tell kids that we accept Jesus by repenting of our sins and putting our faith in Him. Remind kids that He lived the perfect life we could not live and there is nothing we can do to earn our salvation. Help kids understand that Jesus invites everyone to confess that He is Lord, died for our sin, and rose from the dead.
What do we do when those around us reject Jesus?
Remind kids that Jesus taught that not everyone will believe in Him. Tell kids that we can pray for people who reject Jesus and ask God that He would give them hearts that believe. Discuss how we can love others by continuing to share the gospel and telling them that Jesus loves them.
