Ask the Questions

Bigs Discussion Questions

  1. What was your favorite part of today’s Bible story?

  2. What did you learn about God in today’s Bible story?

  3. What are some of the different pieces of armor we can put on each day to help us fight against evil?

  4. Why do people not choose Jesus? People are born with sin and choose what they want rather than what God wants.

Elementary Discussion Questions

  1. Why do we need spiritual armor from God?

Remind kids that because the world is against God, and because Christians belong to God, it is against us too. Help kids understand that while God rules over all creation, Satan and evil forces are still seeking to turn people away from God. Tell kids that the armor God gives us helps us fight against evil and reminds us all that we have in Jesus.

  2. Do we need to fear Satan or evil if we belong to Jesus? Why not?

Remind kids that while Satan and evil are real, we do not need to fear them. Tell kids that God is stronger and more powerful than Satan and evil. Encourage kids to remember that when we trust in Jesus, we are His forever and that nothing can take us away from Him. Help kids remember that while Satan is our enemy, Jesus holds the victory.

  3. Why do you think Paul used sandals as a symbol for the gospel?

Prompt kids to think about how sandals or shoes are placed on feet to make them ready to walk or run. Discuss how the gospel is not meant to be kept to ourselves but that we should be ready to take it with us wherever we go. Encourage kids to discuss ways they have shared the gospel with others. Invite kids to discuss how they can use the armor of God as a way to share the gospel with others.
