Ask the Questions

Bigs Discussion Questions‍ ‍

  1. What was your favorite part of today’s Bible story?

  2. What did you learn about God in today’s Bible story?

  3. How many people became followers of Jesus after Peter preached to them?

  4. Why does God command Christians to tell others about Jesus? We tell others about Jesus so they will hear and believe in Him.

Elementary Discussion Questions

  1. Why do we need to share the gospel?

Discuss how Jesus commands all His followers to go and share the good news. Tell kids that sharing the gospel is part of following Jesus in obedience as His children. Encourage kids to remember that God is inviting us to be a part of what He is doing as He draws people to Himself.

  2. If you have trusted in Jesus, what are some ways the Holy Spirit has changed you from the inside out?

Answers will vary. Remind kids that the Holy Spirit has the power to change us and grow us to look more like Jesus. Discuss the fruit of the Spirit or examples from today’s Bible story such as wanting to serve others, wanting to read our Bibles, praying, etc.

  3. Why can we be bold (or confident) when we tell others about Jesus?

Encourage kids to remember that we might feel afraid or unsure about sharing the gospel, but that we should be confident that the Holy Spirit will help us. Tell kids that God doesn’t put the pressure on us to save people. Share how we are just called to be faithful and obedient to tell others about Jesus. Remind kids that it is the power of God that saves people from sin.
