Introducing Anchor Church & Hope Church!

Meet Nick & Hannah Brzozowski who are planting Anchor Church in Champaign!

Meet Charley and Nichole Dever who are planting Hope Church in downtown Knoxville, TN!

One of the great things about being a part of Converge is that I have other lead pastors that I get to spend time with, learn from, and grow with as we love and lead our churches together. Over the last two years, our family of churches has been praying to to plant more more churches. God answered our prayers by connecting us with two incredible couples who felt God calling them to step out in faith and plant a new church.

Nick & Hannah Brzozowski, Anchor Church (Champaign, IL)

I met Nick a couple of years ago when we had a weekend retreat style seminary class together at TEDS. I was a brand new lead pastor and Nick was a youth pastor at a nearby church who desired to one day be a lead pastor. Nick is one of those guys that draws you and makes you feel loved the instant you meet him. And he loves nothing more than telling people about Jesus - in fact Nick has probably had a 1,000 conversations with people about Jesus all by himself this year! Nick and Hannah moved from the Northwest suburbs of Chicago to Champaign this fall to begin building their core team, with hopes of launching in 2020. Planting a church in a college town is a unique challenge, one that can most definitely use our our prayers! If you know of anyone who lives in and around Champaign - or anyone who is attending the University of Illinois - and in need of a church, be sure to point them to Anchor Church.

We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, [20] where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf.” - Hebrews 6:19–20

Charley & Nichole Dever, Hope Church (Knoxville, TN)

I also met Charley on campus where he was attending seminary at TEDS in Deerfield. When Charley first met with our group of Converge pastors, he and his wife Nichole knew God was calling them to plant a new church, but they weren’t yet sure where. It wasn’t long before felt a strong connection with Knoxville. While also a college town, they are planting in the urban heart of downtown. When Charley came to meet with our elders, we were drawn to the clarity of his calling. Planting Hope Church was not some passing idea that he was going to give it a go with. No, he had spent weeks and months saturated in prayer over the birth of this new church and raising up support as multiple families are making the move with Charley and Nichole to Tennessee to help plant Hope Church where they will help the people of Knoxville:
