Above and Beyond 2019
What is Above & Beyond?
Each year in December we take an opportunity to remember and respond to God’s generosity through our year end Above & Beyond giving campaign, where we give above and beyond our normal giving. Each year, a portion of our Above & Beyond offering goes to provide additional support to organizations that we would otherwise be unable to support. The other portion goes to taking on projects as a church that we would otherwise be unable to take on.
Blessing Others
30% of every dollar we raise will go to providing additional support to organizations outside of our church that we have partnered with.
We’re going to continue an old Mount Prospect Bible Church tradition of providing an additional Christmas gift to each of our regular church planting and missionary partners that we support on a monthly basis.
We’ll be able to provide additional one-time support to some of our other church planting and missionary partners.
We’ll be able to bless local organizations that are making a difference in our community. In the past we have partnered with World Relief Chicago, Higher Up Ministries here in Mount Prospect, and the PADS homeless shelter system here in the northwest suburbs.
Focused on Hospitality
The remaining 70% is going toward hospitality improvements here in our church home.
We’ve already begun the lobby renovation - but have a few more pieces we need to finish. We want to be able to stream the video of our service to the lobby area as well as have the audio for the sermon in the nursing room.
We are making some necessary updates and repairs to our outside lighting, including the repair of the light pole in our parking lot.
Our dining room has some repair work that needs to be done - and while we’re at it we’ll renovate this room that is used not just by our church family for things like our 2nd Saturday men’s breakfast and Wednesday night Awana dinner - but also by the home school that meets here on Fridays.
