The questions asked below were asked on Sunday during our time at Redemption Kids. Take some time to read the passage together, discuss the questions, watch a BRAND NEW video of the lesson, memorize the Bible verse, and remember the big idea of this week!

Ask the Questions

Bigs Discussion Questions

  1. What was your favorite part of today’s Bible story?

  2. What did you learn about God in today’s Bible story?

  3. What did Jesus say that Peter, James, and John would soon be catching instead of fish?

  4. How do we know God loves us? We can know that God loves us because He sent His Son, Jesus.

Elementary Discussion Questions

  1. Why did Peter fall down before Jesus?

Help kids understand that Peter understood that Jesus is God. Tell kids that when we recognize God as holy, all powerful, and separate from us, we are able to recognize our sin. Explain that Peter’s response was that he was sinful because Jesus, as God, is not.

  2. Are any of us worthy of being saved? Why not?

Discuss how no one is worthy because everyone sins. Remind kids that Jesus did not come to save us because we are worthy of being saved but because we are sinners who are in need of a Savior. Encourage kids by reminding them that we do not have to do anything to earn God’s love or salvation.

  3. Did Jesus turn Peter away when Peter said he was a sinful man? What did Jesus do?

Remind kids that Jesus did not turn Peter away but instead invited Peter to follow Him. Lead kids to understand that Jesus invites all people to come to Him by faith and follow Him. Remind kids that following Jesus means that we trust in Him for salvation and then live through the power of the Holy Spirit in us.
