Is Jesus God or a human? Jesus is both fully God and fully human.
Elementary Discussion Questions
Jesus was going away and His disciples were worried. Did they need to be afraid? Why not? Why do we not need to worry as well?
Help kids understand that even though Jesus was leaving earth, He promised to always be with His disciples and anyone who trusts in Him. Tell kids that Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to live in us so that we can always have His presence. Encourage kids to remember that we never need to worry or be afraid because His Spirit will always help us and guide us.
Jesus said He would come back one day and bring His disciples back with Him. How could they go where Jesus was?
Tell kids that Jesus said that He was the way, the truth, and the life. Remind kids that when we place our faith in Jesus, He saves us so that we can live with Him forever. Help kids understand that Jesus will return again, and all who have trusted in Him will live with Him in the new heavens and earth.
How does Jesus show us what God the Father, is like?
Remind kids that Jesus told His disciples that if they had seen Him, they had seen the Father. Tell kids that Jesus revealed God the Father through His words and actions. Discuss how Jesus demonstrated power through miracles, forgave sins, showed mercy and compassion, and loved sinful people. Tell kids that only through Jesus we can know the Father, receive salvation, and be united with God forever.

Big Idea: God the Father sent His Son to rescue us from sin. He gives us the Holy Spirit to help us as we live for Him.
